SSC CGL 2017 – How Many Appeared in Tier I, Result Date, Answer Keys, Vacancies

SSC CGL 2017 Tier I Examination is over and students are anxiously waiting for the answer keys as well as result of the Tier I Examination. In the last post I have explained you about the reasons for likely low cut off for the Tier I examination.

Question: How Many Candidates registered for SSC CGL Examination 2017 and how many appeared in the Tier I Examination?

Answer: In the SSC CGL Tier I examination a total of 15,43,962 candidates appeared. The exam was conducted in 43 Batches across the country. For this year SSC CGL 2017 a total of 30,26,599 candidates were registered. It means that 49% candidates did not appear in the examination.

Question: What is the number of vacancies for this year SSC CGL?

Answer: The vacancies as per the official notification were about 3800. But these were tentative vacancies. In SSC CGL 2016, the commission has increased the number of vacancies. This year also it is expected that vacancies should increase because 3800 vacancies are too less for a big exam where multiple posts are involved.

Question: When the Answer Keys will be released and when the result will be declared?

Answer: The Staff Selection Commission has already released the date for the release of answer keys. The answer keys of the Tier I examination will be announced on 18th September 2017. The result will be declared shortly after that.

Question: When the SSC CGL 2017 Tier II exam will be held?

Answer: The Tier II exam will be held on November 10, 11, 2017, as per the SSC calendar 2017-18. There will be following papers in the Tier II Examination.

Paper-I: Quantitative Ability

Paper-II: English Language & Comprehension

Paper-III: Statistics for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation.

Paper IV: General Studies (Finance and Economics) for the post of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer in Indian Audit & Accounts Department under CAG.
