Today I am going to tell you about Best SSC CGL Books for Tier I and syllabus of this exam. These books are also equally important for SSC Main Exam, Bank PO and other competitive exams. SSC CGL Syllabus Tier I: In its notification of the SSC CGL, Staff Selection has separately mentioned syllabus for the Tier I. I am providing the syllabus as per the notification only. Syllabus for General Intelligence & Reasoning Section: The syllabus for this section may include questions on analogies, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, small and capital letters or numbers coding, decoding and classification, embedded figures, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, social intelligence, problem solving, word building, coding and de-coding, numerical operations, symbolic operations, trends, space orientation, space visualization, figural analogy, semantic classification, symbolic number classification, figural classification, semantic series, number series, figural series, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, venn diagrams, drawing inferences, punched hole, pattern folding and un folding, figural pattern folding and completion, indexing, address matching, date and city matching, classification of centre codes, roll numbers etc.
Syllabus for General Awareness Section: The syllabus for this section may include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy and Scientific Research. There will also be questions on current affairs and everyday GK.
Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude Section: The syllabus for this section will consist of ratio and proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, partnership, mixture and alligation, time and distance, time and work, whole numbers, decimals ,fractions and relationships between numbers, percentage. Basic algebraic identities and elementary surds.

Syllabus for English Comprehension Section: This section will test candidates’ ability to understand correct English, basic comprehension and writing ability etc.
The syllabus of SSC CGL Tier I may appear very vast as far as Reasoning and QA sections are concerned. However the most difficult section in SSC Exams is always the General Awareness Section. Rest of the sections can be prepared with a little bit of efforts. However for General Awareness section you will be required to work extra hard.
