The career of SBI PO is also better when we compare it with Probationary Officer of other banks. Although there are similar promotion channel in all banks however in SBI there is scope for faster promotions as SBI being the largest bank is having huge number of vacancies in all grades of its promotion channel. Hence a SBI PO can raise in hierarchy much faster compare to Bank PO of other Banks. Promotion policy is more or less similar in all banks but due to its size and large number of openings in all grades promotions are faster in SBI.
The promotion channel is as under:
- Probationary Officer (Assistant Manager, JMGS I)
- Deputy Manager (MMGS II)
- Manager (MMGS III)
- Chief Manager (SMGS IV)
- AGM (SMGS V)
- DGM ( TEGS VI)
- GM (TEGS VII)
And so on, normally in SBI there are promotions in every 3-4 years and a SBI Probationary Officer can reach to a very high level (even Chairman of the bank) in course of his or her career.
