ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING IN VARIOUS BANK EXAMS

Every year there are opportunities of jobs in various state and central government departments however still most of the youths are looking for job in the banking sector as their most preferred career. Bank jobs in India were considered prestigious for a long time but somehow the craze for bank jobs gets reduced 4-5 years back. However it has again regained its popularity after the advent of IBPS and today bank exams are among the top exams considered by aspirants as compared to other career options.

Various banks such as State bank of India, Reserve Bank of India and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection releases notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officer/Management trainee, Clerk, Officer scale, Office Assistant, Specialist Cadre Officers, Special Management executives etc.

PROBATIONARY OFFICERS:

This is the Junior Management Level direct entry point for dynamic young graduates. A Probationary officer gets exposed to challenging assignment as he or she also gets the opportunity to involve in nation building developmental activities. The opportunities include working in Personal banking, Rural Banking, Credit, Forex, Treasury etc.

21-30 years Graduation from any discipline from a recognized university/college or equivalent
IBPS PO 20-30 years A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
RRB Officers Officer Scale I:18-28 years

Officer Scale II:21-32 years

Officer Scale III:21-40 years

Degree in any discipline for General Banking Officers (50% for Scale II &III) & Degree / PG in a relevant subject for Specialist Officers as given in the notification. Experience also required for some posts

CLERICAL CADRE (Assistants):

Young graduates are recruited as Assistants (clerical cadre). The Bank is offering fast track growth opportunities as the Assistants are eligible for promotion on completion of 3 years’ service.

SBI/SBI Associate Bank Clerk 20-28 years Graduation from any discipline from a recognized university/college or equivalent
IBPS CWE Clerk 20-28 years A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent

IBPS CWE RRB Office Assistant 18-28 years Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent. Proficiency in local language is mandatory
RBI Assistant 18-28 years At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate.

 SPECIALIST CADRE OFFICER:

Chartered Accountants, Analysts, Statisticians, Risk Raters, Economists, Lawyers, Engineers, System Engineers, Rajbhasha Officers etc are recruited in various grades by the Bank in Specialist cadre with opportunities for career advancement.

IT Officer Scale – II 20-35 years B.E or PG degree or Graduate with DOEACC-B with 2 years’ experience in IT field
Law Officer Scale – II 20-35 years Degree in Law (LLB) with 2 years’ experience
Chartered Account Scale – II 20-35 years Passed CA final examination
Manager credit (Scale – II)/ Finance executive (Scale- II) 20-35 years Graduate with CFA/ICWA/ MBA/PGDBM with 2 years’ experience

There will be relaxation in age limit and marks as per norms of Govt.

Computer Knowledge:

All the candidates applying for various posts should possess basic knowledge of Computers as it is necessary while working at any of the post. So, some of the banks desired to have a candidate which have working knowledge of computers before joining the bank.

Language Proficiency:

Clerical cadre recruitment would be on State-wise basis, the candidate may also be required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he wishes to apply. Similarly, For Office Assistants (Clerks) and Scale-I Officers in RRB, candidates are required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT in which RRB is located and must have passed “local language” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/ 10th Standard.
