How to Prepare for IBPS PO Prelims Examination.

As you can see that there are three papers consisting of 100 questions. You only have one hour to solve the paper. Roughly you have only 36 seconds to solve a question. So you have to keep four things in mind.

  1. This is a test of speed and accuracy. Both speed as well as accuracy is equally important.
  2. There is a sectional cut off. A Candidate has to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination. So it is different from SSC CGL 2017 where there was no sectional cut off.
  3. There is a provision of negative marking. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question. Learn how to tackle negative marking.
  4. Level of competition is very high in this exam as lacs of students will fight for a handful of vacancies. Therefore prepare very well to have realistic chances for qualifying.

How Much One should study

In my view one should devote at least 2 hours on each of the section every day. Apart from this one should also solve a practice set daily. Some time you should also devote to analyze the questions which you could not do during the day.
