IBPS PO / MT CWE 2015 – Latest Changed Pattern of Examination

As you all know that IBPS Common Exam for recruitment of Probationary Officers/Management Trainees is being conducted every year. IBPS has recently released notification for the IBPS PO CWE V 2015 and exam will be conducted in the month of October 2015. This year IBPS has changed the exam pattern of this very popular exam and for the benefit of all our visitors we are explaining the detailed Exam Pattern of IBPS Common Exam for Probationary Officers/Management Trainee 2015, in details:

55000 Vacancies in Banking Sector

This year for the first time IBPS will conduct preliminary and main exams for recruitment of candidates. The structure of the Examinations which will be conducted online will be as under:

Preliminary Examination (Online Exam): As far as the structure of Preliminary online exam is concerned, it will be an objective test which will consist of three papers:

  1. English Language (30 Questions, 30 Marks)
  2. Quantitative Aptitude (35 Questions, 35 Marks)
  3. Reasoning Ability (35 Questions, 35 Marks)
Hence there will be three papers which will be having 100 questions and will be of 100 marks. Total time allotted will be 1 hour.
Main Examination: Those who will clear preliminary examination will be eligible to appear in the Main Examination which again will be an objective test and will consist of following papers:
  1. Reasoning (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
  2. English Language (40 Questions, 40 Marks)
  3. Quantitative Aptitude (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
  4. General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry) (40 Questions, 40 Marks)
  5. Computer Knowledge (20 Questions, 20 Marks)
Hence there will be five papers which will be having 200 questions and will be of 200 marks. Total time allotted will be 2 hour.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination): There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. In one of my earlier articles I have explained in details about how one can avoid and tackle Negative Marking in Bank Exams.

Cut off Score:

Mean – 3/4th of Standard Deviation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD categories
Mean – 1/4th of Standard Deviation for General Category
There will be a second level cutoff point on total as per requirement

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test and also a minimum total score, as explained above, to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cutoffs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.

Interview: Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for CWE PO/MT-V will subsequently be called for an Interview.
