IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2016: IBPS clerk notification has just been announced. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through IBPS’s website www.ibps.in from 22.08.2016 to 12.09.2016.
In this post I am going to tell you about IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria. IBPS Clerk is the biggest exam of the country and lacs of students apply for this exam every year. If you are also willing to appear in this exam you should be well aware of the eligibility criteria.
Many students start applying for competitive exams without ensuring the necessary eligibility conditions. Please do not do such mistake. Therefore please check the eligibility criteria well before applying. Always go through the official notification very carefully before applying.
IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2016
There are 3 main parameters which students should check. These parameters are age, qualification and nationality.
Age: First let us discuss about the age. To be eligible for applying for IBPS Clerk the minimum age is 20 years and the maximum age is 28 years. The cutoff date for reckoning the age is 01.08.2016. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1988 and not later than 01.08.1996 (both dates inclusive).
As per the government norms there are relaxations in the upper age limit which are as under:
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
Other Backward Classes: 3 years
Persons with Disability: 10 years
There are also age relaxation for Ex-servicemen and for certain other categories.
Qualifications: A candidate should have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university of Government of India. A candidate should also have working knowledge in computer and should possess a certificate in it. Or the candidate should have studied computer or IT as one of the subjects.
Knowledge of language: Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.
Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either:
(i) A Citizen of India or
(ii) A subject of Nepal or
(iii) A subject of Bhutan or
(iv) A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Ugand, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
