In this article I am going to discuss with you about the IBPS Clerk Cut Off 2016. IBPS Clerk Preliminary exam has just been conducted and now the students are waiting for the results. Everybody who have appeared in this exam is worried about the cut off of this exam.
Before learning about expected cut off please understand that cut off depends on three factors. How many candidates appeared in the exam, what was the level of the question papers and how many vacancies are there. These three factors play crucial role in deciding level of cut off.
About 8 to 10 lacs candidates are expected to appear for the online test of the IBPS Clerk. Therefore the preliminary exams were scheduled on multiple dates – November 26, 27 & December 3, 4, 2016.
The IBPS Clerk 2016 recruitment was announced in the month of August to fill 19243 vacancies in Indian government banks.
As per the feedback received from the candidates the question paper was easy but it was time consuming. The prelims exam pattern had 100 questions under 3 sections – English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability.
As a part of the selection process, a two stage examination process involving preliminary and main exams are held. Based on candidates feedback and analysis of the exam here are the expected cutoff scores.
IBPS Clerk Cut Off 2016
In IBPS Clerk the cutoffs would be fixed state wise since the clerk vacancies differ for each state. Therefore depending on the number of jobs allotted for a particular state, the qualifying marks will change.
However here we are providing cut off based on the average feedback received. The IBPS clerk prelims 2016 expected cutoffs could be in the range of 42 – 50 for general category and for other categories (OBC/SC/ST) it could be slightly lower than this figure.
In states where number of vacancies are quite high the cut off may go lower in the range of 35-40. Total vacancies in a particular state, number of applicants from that state and their performance will determine the pass marks.
Sectional Cutoffs: Candidates must pass in each section by scoring the individual cutoff scores fixed by IBPS. Sectional cut off may remain in the range of:
English: 7 – 9
Reasoning: 8 – 12
Numerical Ability: 5 – 8
