In this post we are going to explain you about latest IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern. IBPS has already declared the dates for IBPS Clerk Exam and it is the right time to start the preparation.
As I have always suggested you that you should start your preparation as early as possible. In competitive exams whatever extra efforts you will make, will help you to get success. Therefore start your preparation now.
However the first step before starting any preparation is that you should have a through idea about the exam pattern as well as of syllabus. Only then you can plan and prepare well.
You may be aware that from 2015 IBPS has changed the IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern and the same pattern is expected to continue this year also.
Now the exam pattern has been divided into preliminary, mains and interview. However after the notification of Government of India it is likely that from this year there may not be interview. However the notification in this regard has not been released yet.
IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern 2016
As I have told you that the exam of IBPS Clerk has been divided in to preliminary and mains examinations. In preliminary examination there will be following papers:-
There will be 30 questions in English Language while in the other two papers there will be 35 questions each. Each question will carry equal mark hence in total there will be 100 questions of 100 marks.
The time duration for this paper will be 1 hour or 60 minutes.
- English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude
- General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry)
- Computer Knowledge
In mains examination of IBPS Clerk there will be 40 questions in each of the paper. Each question will carry equal mark hence in total there will be 200 questions of 200 marks.
The time duration for this paper will be 2 hour or 120 minutes.

How much time is required for preparation?
Last year IBPS Preliminary Examination was conducted in December 2015. This year also exam will be conducted in November or December 2016. Therefore you are having sufficient time in hand. In my view 6 months preparation is enough for this exam. However in competitive exams the more you prepare the better chances for selection will be there.
Important books for IBPS Clerk Exam
Many times I have told you about important books. Now a days there are many good books available. You can refer to the books of Arihant Publication, BSC Publication or S Chand Publication. The books of all these publications are very good.
There is penalty for wrong answers hence you should be very careful while attempting the paper. There will be penalty of 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.
