In the last post I have explained you about the new SBI Clerk Exam Pattern and how to prepare for it. Now it’s time to talk about the syllabus of this very popular exam. As per estimates more than 20 lacs candidates may appear in this exam.
In SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam there will be three papers which are English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. While in English Language there will be 30 questions, the other two sections will be of 35 questions each. Time available will be one hour only.
Therefore the best strategy for all of you will be to very quick and accurate while attempting questions. Since it’s a very popular exam the competition will also be high. However a well prepared student will always have a very good chance to qualify.

SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam English Language syllabus
In the English Language section the questions will be from variety of topics such as Idioms and phrases, one word substitution, passage completion, error detection, passage correction, sentence correction, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, word formation, sentence completion, comprehension, spelling tests, fill in the blanks etc. Since the time duration of this SBI Clerk Preliminary exam is very less hence level of questions will remain easy.
SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam Numerical Ability syllabus
In this section the questions will be from 10th standard level books. There will be a range of topics but broadly the questions will be from Time & Distances, problems on trains, boats and streams, simple interest, compound interest, mensuration, volume, area, circles, permutation and combination, number system, time and work, pipes and cisterns, simplifications, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, surds, data interpretation, chart and graphs etc.
SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam Reasoning Ability syllabus
This section is normally considered most difficult by the candidates. But with a good preparation of the entire syllabus one can score very high marks in this section. Questions are normally asked from topics such as Analogy, blood relations, series questions, syllogism, decision making, coding and decoding, sitting arrangements, classifications, statement and arguments etc.
